The Kentucky Historical Society is offering research fellowships to encourage and promote research on all aspects of Kentucky history. The application deadline is April 30. Fellowships are available in three categories: scholarly research, family-history research and history-teaching research. Visit www.history.ky.gov for details. In other KHS news: The KHS is currently seeking adult volunteers for the position of docents at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History. Volunteer docents will interact with patrons in the permanent and temporary exhibitions at the Center for Kentucky History. The KHS Immigration Web site, Our New Kentucky Home: Immigrant Experiences, recently received a gold ADDY at the 2009 Lexington ADDY Awards ceremony. The award honored the design work of Elevation Creative Studios of Lexington. The Web site, http://history.ky.gov/immigration, is an online exhibit that shares the stories of immigrants who came to Kentucky to create a better life for themselves and their families. KHS is seeking nominations for the annual Kentucky History Teacher of the Year award. The award, administered by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, will be given to one outstanding teacher of American history from each state, U.S. territory and Department of Defense school.
